About SHAURYA
Shaurya Kapoor is an LA-based singer, songwriter, music producer and vocal coach passionate about helping others find their voice. With a background that spans performance, teaching, and production, Shaurya has worked with singers of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to pros.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Master’s degree, Shaurya also holds a certification in voice teaching from New York Vocal Coaching, where he trained under world renowned vocal technician, Justin Stoney. Over the years, he’s worked with over 100 singers, helping them improve their technique, build confidence, and find their unique sound.
Shaurya is currently being mentored by Stargate, the producer duo behind hits like Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes.” He’s also a former member of the duo Incompatibles and now releases music under the name Cosimo Stone. His music blends soulful melodies with fresh production and heartfelt lyrics.
With a focus on both technique and creativity, Shaurya works to help singers and artists reach their full potential, whether in the studio, on stage, or in the vocal booth.

The General Philosophy
Singing is not some God given talent. Singing is a skill and like in the case of any other skill you can simply practice and get better at it.
What to practice? How to practice? When to practice? How much to practice? These are the questions your voice teacher is there to help you answer.
Voice lessons are ongoing sessions focused on vocal technique, the key points of focus being

Personalized Lesson Plans
Every singer & every voice is different. Different voices have different needs. This implies that the technical and stylistic approach that works wonders for your favorite singer may not work for you at all.
At TSVS, all lesson plans, warm ups & exercises are tailor-made to the singer and their vocal goals because that’s the only way it actually works. Think of it as having a personal trainer for your voice.
Online Lessons
Do they work?
One of the most common question we get regarding online voice lessons is, “Do they actually work?” The answer is YES — online voice lessons absolutely work! Shaurya has been successfully conducting virtual lessons for over four years, helping students improve their vocal technique, performance, and confidence, just like in-person sessions. While it may take a bit of getting used to, once you get into the flow, online lessons can deliver nearly the same results as offline lessons.
To get the most out of your online lesson, all you need is:
- A reliable internet connection
- One device for the video call
- A second device (preferably connected to a speaker) to play any provided exercise and backing tracks
If you’re using a MacBook, you can often get by with just one device, but having two separate devices will make the process smoother and more effective. The speaker is completely optional and just adds to the experience for the singer.

Vocal Coaching
Vocal coaching is a bit different from voice lessons. Vocal coaching is used for preparing for a specific performance, audition, or recording session. Coaching sessions are used to focus on areas such as performance and performing strategies, stage presence, and stylistic and musical choices. Singers may also focus on acting within the song, mic technique, pronunciation and diction.

In the studio
Singing in a studio environment is VERY different from singing at home or on the stage. Getting the right balance in your headphones, making sure the vocal chain used while recording works for the singer, doing the right warm up for the particular song you’re recording. There’s A LOT that goes into getting the most out of a vocal recording session.
With thousands of hours spent recording high-quality vocals for himself and a diverse range of talented artists, Shaurya knows exactly what it takes to set you up for success. Whether it’s your first time in the studio or you’re an experienced singer, Shaurya will make sure you’re fully prepared and ready to shine.
Studio coaching sessions are also offered at Shaurya’s mid-city home studio for singers who want to practice recording vocals.

- Lessons are available for purchase in sets of 4.
- Cancellation Policy : If a lesson is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time, you will be charged for the lesson.
- Rescheduling : Rescheduling is only possible if the class is cancelled more than 48 hours before the lesson.
- Make-Up Classes : Only one make-up class per set of 4 scheduled lessons will be allowed.
